T he National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) is often seen as a rite of passage for young Nigerians. You may have heard stories about it from friends and family, or read about it online. But there are many things you don't know about NYSC service until you experience it firsthand.  First of all, the living conditions in the NYSC camps are not what most people expect. The accommodations are often basic, and the food is not always of the best quality. Many people are also surprised by the amount of free time they have during their service year.
